Mk1 Focus pollen filter location

Can anyone tell me where the pollen filter is located on an early ST170?

under the bonnet by the windscreen on the n/s have to get a new weather strip or you will have leaks

The tabs that hold it in are a right bks!

I didn't change the weather strip (and it looked to be the 11y/o original), but it seems to be holding up to the Irish summer alright.

I'm not sure how a leak would be noticed though, bad smelling air maybe?

Passenger footwell will get wet to a varying degree. Depending on the amount of water getting in you'll get anything from a squelchy carpet, damp under the mat, or in some cases some have had a full on paddling pool in the footwell.

Thanks for the replies. I will have a look. I'm hoping that it is the answer to why the air con lacks any umph.

check to see if it has the revised scuttle panel, if it has when romeved there will be a big scoop thing attached. If not buy one with the new sealing strip, A damp pollen filter will = terrible damp airflow and eventlly water in the footwell.

you can reseal the scuttle panel using a little bit of silicon sealant, rather than replacing the strip. its what i have done, although it hasnt solved the leak, but thats been diagnosed as a badly fitted windscreen on my mark 1.5 focus
