Afternoon everyone, Driving home from work this afternoon and the engine management light has come on and stayed on,it is a 2006 model with 42,000 on the clock and is running perfectly anybody able to point me in the right direction as to what to check before i commit my soul to the dealers? thanks Bill.

Difficult to know really. Presumably a sensor has gone titsup, or possibly the EGR valve is sticking. It needs the fault code reading, only after that can the judgement of ripoffery be made.

Might be a cat or lambda giving up. Read the code, as suggested above ^
