I like the cossie..

but the impreza STI / Evo are 99.995% the car the ford is.

the other .005% is imaginary badge snobbery

... in my ill informed opinion of course hehe

Edit..

Just read up on the cossie..

seems its drivetrain is a match for the regular WRX subrau as its a viscus coupling.. whilst the STI has a mechanical one

are there any proper head to heads out there as the topgear one was a joke tbh..

My Cosworth puts that one to shame. Less miles and better condition.
Still no doubt they will sell it.

I only thought the other day one drove past me and I couldn't remember the last time I saw one out and about. I must have been eleven when I first got a ride round the Brands Hatch Rally Course in one of their Cossie rally cars and it blew me away, then got taken out in my sister's friends mint road car. Lucky guy had that in one side of the garage and a Tommy Makkinen EVO in the other, both gave such a huge sense of occasion. Incredible cars. I thought of a Subaru a while ago but trim is so cheap and tacky, and I drove a Sport - not an STI I know, but had as much feeling as an R/C car. I miss my Mk1 Escort but the scene is huge, it's the done thing, rather than two fingers up at the hot hatch boys from beneath ground like it used to be, and there will only ever be the limited mumber of Cossies built by Ford, as opposed to any old MK1/2 with a X/flow or Pinto in fetching the same price as a genuine homologation special.

Ford big mistake was calling it an ESCORT as it was far more than just that. Had they evolved a new marque i feel they might have hit super car status. Unfortunately the Escort name is a tarnish not a help . IMHO. and I have had a few over the years and even have one now.
they should have numbed them individually as well as they only ever made 2500 Homologation specials.

One reason all the Ford Cosworths are so much more sought after than Evos and Imprezas

is simply that they were built in much smaller numbers.

How many turbo imprezas do you see daily ?......ALOT

Evos.......a few a week

Cosworths..........rarely see any ,can't remember where i left mineconfusedsilly
