Yellow engine malfunction light on Focus ST 3

Just noticed my Yellow engine Malfunction light has appeared on the dashboard of my Focus 2007 ST , never seen this before & the car is running fine,

I'm just running the plain D/S on race + . Anyone know if this can be resolved or do i need to let Ford check it out, Any help greatly appreciated

Ideally you need to get a code reader on it, and see what fault codes come up.

Do you have a decat? or sports cat by any chance?

Had this once or twice on mine, it was always a sensor of some description, MAF or MAP(?). Neither are particularly pricey from what I can remember, about £40 each? One of them is a bugger to get off though as you need to go through the wheel arch lining to get at it.

Mine comes on every 2k miles or so due to the decat, just remove the KAM fuse and it goes away for another 2 months.

If you have Ds then the handset can be used as a code reader once you have the code it will narrow down your problem
