Mk 1 Focus vs Mk 6 Fiesta - pros and cons
Discussion
Good evening
Im just wondering if the good decent Ford owning PHers reading this could offer their thoughts on the pros and cons of opting for either the Mk 1 Focus or Mk 6 Fiesta.
Id like to know which of the two (Fiesta or Focus) you would go for - along with any issues i should be aware of.
In particular - is rust a serious issue, does the Canbus give any issues on the Mk 6 Fiesta (am i right in thinking it has Canbus???.
Overall ownership experience would be greatfully appreciated too.
Have these 2 cars in my head as potential ownership experiences.
Thank you very much
Sir Fergie

Had a Fiesta ST and a MK1 RS
Would take the focus again, not just for the fact its RS
But more space the main thing, fiesta always sat waaay too high aswell
Which engines you looking at?
Thank you for your reply - i would be looking at the 1.25 in the Fiesta or the 1.4 or 1.6 in the Focus.Would take the focus again, not just for the fact its RS

Yes i know - not exactly Pher material i know - but i think that a normal focus or Fiesta would do the job as a runaround.
Was leaning towards the Fiesta - but thinking about it a bit more - its hard to see a benefit of having a 1.25 Fiesta over a 1.6 Focus. In saying that the Mk 6 is very roomy for its size and the 82 ps 1.25 should be lively enough.
Perhaps the way forward is to see what actual cars are out there and approach the job on the basis that an immaculate fiesta is better than a rough focus (or vice versa).
Sir Fergie
ive got a 1.8 focus and have found it lovely, done just over 10k miles since april
ghia spec is the way forwards, especially the heated windscreen - lovely this time of year.
been reliable (touch wood) and when its has gone wrong its been not too horrendous to fix money wise.
friend bought a 1.6 on the expereince of mine and has been equally pleased.
im 21 and the insurance isnt too horrendous, £660PA living in surrey with 2 years no claims.
