Engine swap question

I have a 2.0 Mondeo Tdci with a 5speed box.
I want to drop an ST 2.2 Tdci lump in with a 6 speed box.

Has anyone done this? I assume that it's not as simple as that! Am guessing will want the ECU & injectors from the 2.2, but is all other stuff transferable?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

love the idea of this ! have no idea of it working . i no a man who put a 115 tddi mk3 engine into a mk 2 mondeo . running like a dream . alot of messing with wires but a patient person would solve the problem . . Interested to cee if you can change the engines tho !

There was a guy on the Mondeo forum who did exactly what you are wanting to do. Eventually he gave up and put the 2 litre back in cos he couldn't get the 2.2 to run right no matter what he did.

In terms of the gear box there are a number of reasons why you cant fit a 6 speed into a five speed car.
