Ford Fair 2013,11th August @ Silverstone

Just wondering if anyone has been to ford fair before, as I was thinking about getting some tickets for this years event on Sunday 11th August. Looks like it'll be a decent event, loads of club stands on show...

... Which brings me to my next question - would there be any interest in a PistonHeads stand at this years ford fair?? My car is a standard mk6.5 Fiesa Zetec S but would love to 'represent'!!

Going this year, will be on the STOC stand, too late to apply for your own stand, space is also at a preimum so I don't know if you'd get one even if you applied. It's a good event, I've been the past two years, get's a bit repetative once you've been too many times though, there's only so many times you can see the same pristine Mk.2 escort that gets trailored everywhere year in year out, before you stop caring.

I'll be there but on a fiesta st stand, we tend to have focus st's and RS's and sorts on it aswell though but we got a decent spot last year as we were quick getting the money in

I was looking to go last year but got called to work so will try this year as ive never been. If i do ill be popping up in my st170

I think any show can get repeat itself year after year even more when its just about one particular manafacturer.

Quite a few posts over various forums indicating everything from panels being scratched & dented (even by people parked on the same stand ) to theft of parts off cars on stands this year

Evidently lots of people also don't seem to understand "look but don't touch" after a few people on the RSOC found people sticking their hands into their engine bays and poking & prodding around

A bmw overtook them and then cut infront too quickly and swiped them off the road, was luckily only him and the wife in the car as they didn't bring the kids. Had another one written off the day before on the way to collect the stand passes and track time, slowed down to turn into the yard and a transit rammed him from behind and spun him into the wall. Then jano blew a tyre up on the escort and exploded the diff on track, a weekend of destruction

Bits of metal can be replaced, all of the squishy meaty things survived fairly ok.
