Hi guys, a friend has a 2006 ST TDCI 155 and has fitted a bigger intercooler, panel filter, blocked off the EGR and had a map. Would I be right in thinking for more power he will be looking at a larger turbo and uprated injectors? If so can anyone confirm whats the maximum safe power for standard internals?

The internals can take 250bhp no problems, and around 400lb ft. Bottom ends are over-engineered. Its the bits needed to get there that are expensive. Realistic power is 185-190bhp with a map, forget the panel filter it adds nothing, EGR blank helps low end power and response, bigger intercooler and decat and premimum diesel. Torque should be around the 330-340lb ft mark (295lb ft standard with overboost), a lot of which is wasted if you dont have decent tyres as it all comes in a rush low down.

There aren't any known upgraded turbos but there are a couple of hybrid turbos knocking about in peoples cars on the Mondeo ST forums.
Same for the injectors, there isn't a common replacement for them neither.
Something which is a bit of a strange one really considering the amount of hassle people have with the Delphi injectors.

Common mods are decat, intercooler, custom exhaust and a custom remap which should, as the poster above said, push out about 180-200bhp.

I would get an upgraded exhaust first, before looking at Turbos etc...
