My daughters Mondeo(56 plate, 64,000 miles) ground to a halt the other day. The AA road assistance thought it was a timing chain issue, snapped or jumped off tensioners.
Our local garage man put it on the computer and said the fault code was for the Cam Shaft, this could also point to the timing chain.
Problem is our garage man does not want to do the repair, he could start by trying to fix what he thinks is the problem(jumped timing chain), get into more fixes as maybe the cam shaft is the issue and end up putting a new engine in which would be the easiest to do. Lots of labour charges.
Has anybody else had a similar problem and how did you get it fixed. Alternative is to sell the car as it is to somebody who can do the work.
