Mk4 Fiesta 1997 cutting out
Discussion
Art-noon,
Now being such an old car, this is probably an easy fix, but I've been out of the game a few years and seem to have lost my touch lol.
It's a 1.3 OHV EFI and it's a bugger to start, and has started cutting out when slowing down. I fitted a new air flow metre a few months ago and it's been fine till now. My code reader shows no faults but when stone cold the coolant temp shows 40 degrees. I've checked a green sensor on the water pipe behind the inlet manifold but I'm not sure it's the right sensor as when I disconnected it and bridged the wires it made no difference to the live data on the reader. Is there another sensor somewhere? and is this a common fault? I heard that they did a dealer fix by fitting a resistor to the coolant sensor, how do tell if this has been done?
Any help would be very much appreciated as it's getting on my t*ts now.
Ian
