Ford Focus 2012 - Carrying long items, 3m long?
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm trying to find out if you can fit 3m long lengths of wood into my Focus? I've got approx 12 lengths of 3m and 2m long bits, and 3 x 3m long by 60cm wide kitchen worktops to get home from B&Q.
They do operate a "hire by the hour" van rental, which I need to go to the store, buy a rental pack, ring Hertz up to sort out the rental, bla-de-blah.
I'd rather avoid that if I can!
So, anyone carried 3m long worktops in their Focus before?
P.S. OK, I'm doing this the wrong way around, but I'm munching dinner whilst typing this. Then I'll grab the tape measure and go measure things. But knowing a 3m long thin thing will fit won't give me the full picture if a 3m x 60cm worktop will fit - it's a bit different.

Right, after measuring, a 3m long piece of string *will* fit
3m long worktops, or even 3m long lengths of 10x5cm wood - no chance.
Luckily I remembered B&Q have a cut to length service, and the length I actually need is only 1.8m, which will fit in nicely. (after moving the front passenger seat as far forward as it'll go and tipping it's back forward and covering it with something to protect it)
I'll just have to remember they're there so I don't smack my head on the worktop corner when driving home.
So, this is a rather pointless thread now
