Problem with 2005 2.0 TDCI Mondeo
Discussion
Hi all, I'm calling on the collective minds of PH to help with a problem with my car.
If I drive normally and change gear below 3k, it runs ok, but if I put my foot down and accelerate harder it seems to cut out momentarily and then flash the glow plug light (if I turn the ignition off and on it goes off). If I then accelerate it feels like the car has lost all power and barely gains speed.
Has anyone experience this, or has an idea of what it might be??
I look forward to hearing your replies.
Thanks, Flipper

Mine did exactly the same. It's the EGR valve sticking open. Look this up on the forums. U can put in an EGR blanking plate in and it should cure the problem. Worked instantly for me.
If its not that it will be a duff fuel injector, which some specialists will change for a recon part for about £130 each.
Try DieselElectro in Norwich.
Cheers.
