Clear coolant?

Just bought a focus Rs from a main dealer. When i got home i noticed the coolant is from what i can see clear, is this just water? :s

Would have thought so, Antifreeze is normally coloured so you know it's got some in it. May be get it tested or drain some water out and put your own antifreeze in for peace of mind is my suggestion.....

Antifreeze smells sweet (and tastes it but it is toxic).

Coolant should be red
Best bet pop into any garage & ask them to check it for you as they will have a tester

Or clear or yellow or green or blue... there are many different types.

Probably cheaper to buy a tester (specific gravity tester).

P.S. a battery specific gravity tester is not suitable.
