Which mondeo? help a newby please :-)

Hi i'm new to this forum and just wanting some opinions from knowledgable people please. i dont know much about cars and so need advice, I am looking for a towing car for caravan and mainly as our main family run around, and have seen 2 Mondeos. One is an 06 mondeo zetec tdci 2.0 with tow bar and has done 86000 miles it has alloy wheels £3995 . The other is a 56 mondeo LX 2.0 tdci with no towbar, steel wheels with 67000 miles on the clock. The zetec looks nicer and already has towbar fitted but has higher mileage. Which one would you go for? Any opinions would be great!

also is a diesel the way to go or would petrol be better?? do diesel cars have more problems that are more expensive to fix??
