focus rs mk1, auto door locking

Hi

anyone got the sequence to enable the auto door locking function

cars been off road for 2 years, and now its fixed the auto locking function
is disabled and it doesnt appear in the manual how to enable it

IIRC:

Ignition ON
Then using the driver side door handle, lock & unlock the doors three times
Ignition OFF
Lock & unlock three more times
Ignition ON
Lock & unlock once more
The car should beep at you if / when you get it right.
