mondeo has broken drive cable for electric window
Discussion
Hi all,
My 2005 Mondeo has a problem with the drivers door electric window. When I press the switch the window stays put and I can hear the motor working, so no electrical issue.
I took the door panel off and checked that the glass was still correctly attached to the mechanism. Then removed the speakedr to get access to the motor to find that the drive cable that comes out of the left side (as you look at the door from the inside)of the motor housing has either come adrift or broken. The spring and red cable sleeve that fit over the cable at the motor end were floating about in the bottom of the door. Can anyone suggest how I can rectify the problem. One thing I noticed when I took the drive motor off was the yellow colored center wheel had the right side drive cable attached to it but i could not see how the left side cable would attache.
Any help and guidance would be appreciated.
