Engine oil in Cosworths

Morning all,

Can I ask what grade engine oil other Cossy owners are using and what you guys would recommend?

The reason I'm asking is Im currently running 10W-50 in mine and she seems abit tapperty on it. An engineer friend of mine recommend I use 10W-40 as it would be better because, an I quote. "it's just a pinto with a 16V head!"

Looking for a bit info just to see what does everyone else use?

Ha, there is truth in it, as the YBB was based on the PInto.

As for the oil, I can't imagine moving to10/40 would cause any harm.

I always use. 10/60, anything thinner than that goes almost straight through.

Well, it was a selected Pinto block, with at least twice the power and more heat. When it was a current model I think Shell Gemini was what Ford used to sell for them. I don't think that was even synthetic.
