MOndeo MK1 TDCI on a budget
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm on a budget and looking for a car to do 20/30K per year for 12 to 24 months.
Seen couple of Mondeo '02 - '04 but prices seems to be all over the place, from a 130K miles for £600 to a cat C with over 200K for £995.
What sort of price would I be looking at for an '02 120K car with FSH?
Any potential issues to look for? The car will mainly be used for long commute and needs to return high 40's mpg and be reliable. Will I be naïve to wanting to spend £600?
The only other option I can see are mk1 Corsa

Personally yes, I'd say your requirements with the reliable clause and the budget for a MK2 TDCi Mondeo are optimistic! I'm on a budget and looking for a car to do 20/30K per year for 12 to 24 months.

It's been a few years since I had mine, but from memory the rear calipers are almost a consumable. Plus you've got the more usual DMF's, and items like injectors.
Never had one, so could be wrong but I was under the impression the older TDDi would be a better choice for longevity?
