Hello folks

Stop start has stopped working on my 62 plate ecoboost. Was working until the car was left unused for a a few days last month. Appreciate there are a few variables that determine if it will kick in, however it's never been this long between it working and not working.

Is there a fuse that could be removed to 'reset' it?

Any other thoughts?

If the battery is below a predetermined voltage/storage power the stop start will not kick in. When I've done a lot of town driving it can go a day or two without it kicking in, once I've down quite a bit of normal running or downhill motoring, it will then be activated.
Being stood for a while will mean the battery will slightly loose some power.

Thanks, will check voltage across terminals.

Are there any gotchas to disconnecting/reconnecting the battery to recharge ?

I really wouldnt worry about it, because as said there are many criteria that need to be right for the Start/Stop to work.
I have a 62 plate 1.6 Ecoboost and it can go weeks before it works. It was working yesterday for the first time in ages....actually took me by surprise.
I do mainly short journeys so the biggest single influence in my case will probably be battery voltage.
Whenever i have done a longer journey at motorway speeds it usually starts working again, albeit for a very short period after i get back to my usual routine.
I dont think you have anything at all to worry about.

Thanks for the input.

I'm not worried as such, just wondered if there was a quick fix as I hate stuff not working as it should be.

I have a 2hr motorway journey coming up next weekend so will report back

Cheers
