Hi all
i was wondering if someone could help me locate when i could be getting an oil burning smell, its quite bad once the engine is how as you can see smoke rising and it does come into the car which isnt good as i have children in there so i need to fix it asap.
im pretty sure it the rocker cover with the leak that's causing the burning smell. and its quite bad when i stop with the interior fans on it comes into the car and i have a new born and a 19 month old! so this needs fixing asap.
having cleaned the engine im not really sure what im looking for with regards to leaks

Looks like the rocker cover gasket. Easy to change, a few bolts. Get a new gasket from Fords. If you have had a cambelt done, usually the rocker cover comes off to lock the cams, to change the belt and people don't change the gasket. Since yours is ten years plus, the belt was due at 10yrs old. I 'think' the gasket is about £15 to £20. It just sits in the rocker cover, and then just bolt it back down. Socket set and an hour or two.
