Hi I am replacing my dash clocks from standard to ghia / sport type on my mk2 escort. I have the wiring diagrams but does any body know best way to connect the Rev counter to the negative on the coil??
Thanks
Mike

Funnily enough I once tried to do this myself back in the mid 80s on a 1.3L. I ended up giving up as I couldn't get the rev counter working without causing a major misfire. I never did work out what I was doing wrong (though in hindsight perhaps I needed to add a resistor in line with the connection to the rev counter as it might have been drawing current away from the coil).

I don't know if there is anything I can check on my RS2000 as it has a rev counter as standard. I'll dig out my Haynes manual and see if there is any clues so I can retrace my steps back from 1985.
