Mk6 Fiesta 2005 - Crackling Radio

Hi all,

I have (grandad has) a Mk6 2005 Fiesta pre-facelift. When using MW radio (he listens to MW) there is constant crackling through the speakers when listening to any station. FM is absolutely fine, but MW has a constant crackling.
Anyone have any ideas what a fix could be?

Just noticed with the engine off and ignition on and off the radio does not crackle. Some sort of interference perhaps?

2006 Focus here, Mrs Peanut listens to MW, but with the USB power source plugged in (going to dash cam, so all the time while driving) it crackles so badly that I do not have to listen to her radio stations.

Previous car needed a power filter fitted to reduce this crackle, so this might work for you. A mate built mine, but they are available on the bay etc. Worth a shot!

Probably needs a suppressor.
