Any areas of concern - 2003 Mondeo 1.8 Duratec HE

Hi all,

Looking at a cheap 2003 Mondeo LX - it's a 1.8 Duratec HE petrol engine, with 70k miles.

Is there anything I should watch out for when viewing? Any common problems to be aware of?

Mostly rust I would think. Rear wheel arches etc. I think the 2003 Duratecs are chain rather than belt cam drive? Check the clutch is okay by putting it in 5th at lowish speed and flooring the throttle. Run it through the MOT history checker to see what it has failed on recently and if the faults were all put right.
