Ford Zetec s gearbox 2002

Hi, my brothers old Zetec s was leaking gearbox oil from the end plate. Whipped it off and resealed. Not sure how much oil to put in the gearbox now. Some say full until oil come out the filler plug hole, some say it needs to be 5-10 mm below hole and to use a bent wire to check. Anyone know which is correct. As they are meant to be sealed for life I can't find much info.

Hi, thanks for the help. I called the local Ford dealer and that is what they said. Now fixed... awaiting the next issue.
