We have a '19 plate transit custom that said it needed a service so I called to book it in to be told that it more than likely needs a recall for oil dilution so I took it into the dealership today, they confirmed that the oil was diluted and was changed at no costs as part of the recall.

Is anyone aware of issues being caused by this? The concern we have is engine problems once outside of warranty.

We have 3 vans in total so there is potential for this to cost quite a but if it does cause engine issues.

Thank you

direct injection is becoming more common. low tension piston rings are becoming more common. lots of cars deliberately overfuel to cool the cylinder because people use 95 instead of 99, with the resulting retarded timing and less power and more fuel dilution.

its possible that a spark plug has failed meaning all the fuel going into that cylinder either dilutes oil or kills your cat.

older tech was better for preventing this condition from occuring.

Not many Transit diesels run on95/99 octane fuel.

Sure it's not part of...

Transit EcoBlue Engine Software Update - Saves time and improves uptime.

Your Ford dealer is now offering a fast software update for your Intelligent Oil Life Monitor (IOLM), which will provide clearer notifications of when an oil change is due.

By booking your vehicle in for a software update, you can better ensure that your oil is changed when required and your engine is protected against premature wear.

If not the only other update I know about is a batch of faulty injectors.
