Long story short, I'm looking for an estate that has a wide boot. But what I mean by wide is the boot width at the narrowest point: between the wheel wells.

It should be at least 111 cm wide, which excludes most of the station wagons except the Mondeo, the Volvo V70, the Opel Omega (Vauxhall Carlton), and a few others.

This site used to have this measurement for older cars, but now they only have for newish cars:
https://www.ridc.org.uk/features-reviews/out-and-a...

I was considering either the Mondeo or the V70, but I came across an ad of an extremly clean and low mileage Scorpio Cosworth:

Any more experienced Ford fans here who might have owned both the Scorpio and the Mondeo estate and remember their boots? I know it's difficult but I have no idea where I can ask about it. Since this Scorpio is a bit away from me, it's not worth to travel just to measure the width of the boot.

Thanks for your attention!

Good question. :-D

It's a racing go-kart. The emphasis on the width is because in order to be able to load it up by myself, I need to have the front wheels mounted on. You can transport a go-kart even inside a hot-hatch, but then you would need to dismantle it completely and would need a second person to help you out.

The clues were all there laugh

I'd consider a transportation jigg if it were my hobby. Best of luck finding something suitable.

I think we all know the answer is T5. But no one wants that...

SUVs or vans are out of question, as is out of question trailers due to storage constrainsts. I want an estate, preferably one that is cool.

Me too! I remember when I was a kid thinking the Scorpio was the ugliest car I have ever seen, but this Cosworth one looks so cool.

No, 113cm is the width at the boot opening, not between the wheel wells. I had the V90 measurement somewhere, it was 109cm or 106cm at the narrowest point.

In fact the V90 is much narrower than the V70:

114.5cm. The Mondeo is I believe the widest of all estates:
