Hi

I have a Ford 78HFKFA 8BB Carb taken off a Pinto engine (2.0 I think). Can anyone tell me what this carb should have come from originally (from the carb number)? I have an old MK2 Escort Haynes manual but the carb isn't listed on there. It has a cut-off solenoid so guessing it's a later carb off maybe a Cortina or Capri.

Any help much appreciated!
Thanks
Mark

A Cortina, Capri etc would have a twin choke Weber DGAV 32/36.

Sorry you seem to have a 2.0 Transit carburettor, which is for the low compression version of the Pinto.

Thanks gt40steve, that explains it & grateful for your knowledge. I was thinking it may have been retro fitted in error and was too small.

Cheers!
