Fiesta electric window fault.

My 2011 Fiesta 2 door runabout has developed a fault with the drivers side electric window. It will drop or rise only a couple of inches and then stop, it can drop all the way eventually, and the same rising. But often operating the switch does nothing, I'm hoping I don't have to change the motor, anyone know how to fix it?
