Mondeo 2018 ex K9

So I went and spent 1500 on a mondeo with 180k miles, with a few electrical issues.

When i inspected the car, it has a modified 2 dog compartment with storage where the rear seats are.

After removing it all, some cables were rusty and I have made sure all the connections look good. But still nothing.

Since doing that, the boot will now not release. Current problems are I have no power on climate control, or right hand side door. But power in some other smaller things around like usb lights and lights in the window sun visor.

Now because this is ex police car, its hard loads of stuff added, then removed. Am I looking next at the control units that these things are wired to?

Will that mean an expensive specialist car electrician at 200 an hour?

I have yet to go back any further as I was frustrated after spending hours getting all there K9 kit out, that nothing I did made a difference.

Would anybody have any advice. I've got 2 options, fix somehow, or bodge, I can have a 12v heater for example but I'm concerned other things will start failing. If I bodge I would basically run the car to the ground and then maybe have an "accident"

Any thoughts?

Check near and under glove box for damp.
Im sure the bcm sits there n can cause problems with random electrical faults.
