I saw on the front cover of Auto Express a week or so ago that an extensive Foucs facelift is planned for the end of the year.

Now, I don't normally read Auto Express as it is rubbish, but is there any truth in this???

Thanks,

Paul.

Yes indeed,it should wind up the early buyers of the Focus CC as that gets a lift too and hasn't been out long.

Cheers Jon,

I was hoping you would say that! I'm really happy with my Focus, but when the new Mondeo came out it was very tempting. I don't really need a car as big as the Mondeo, so another Foucs it is then!

I've got another 30000 miles to go till mine is due to go back, so hopefully the new one should be out by then.

Paul.

That is rather nice, a big improvement on the current one anyway. Hopefully they keep the aggressive look here and dont tone it down too much like they did from the Iosis concept to the actual mondeo.

Fingers crossed they can get it out Q1 2008 then. The latest I'll be able to wait till I have to order another car is going to be about April... I'll have to ease off the miles a bit. I'm doing about 40k a year at the moment, and mine is in for it's 50k service today...

Talking of which, I got the usual Fiesta as a courtesy car today, and I'd ave thought Ford really could have done with updating that before the Focus! Nice enough to drive, if a bit sluggish (1.25), but the interior is awful...

Yes I should think it is with twice the power of the 1.25!! But it's the range in general that needs a bit of updating. I wouldn't want to use one for trips any longer than into town, the seating is very basic with little shape (again not the ST wink), the dash plastic is very cheap looking.

I just think that the Fiesta has been left behind a bit in recent years b it's competitors, whilst the Focus has been more than holding it's own (albeit whilst being styled a bit boringly), so it might have made more sense to push the Fiesta update through first. But then I suppose the next Fiesta is all new on the same platform as the Mazda2, so there would be timescale issues linked in with that.

I hope the final version is close to those renderings. The raised rear lights have been a bit of a personal bugbear of mine, coupled with the huge blank area on the tailgate they made it look a bit like a fat bird wearing low cut jeans.

I cant see ford doing a huge ammount , new nose , c-maxesqe tail lights with leds for the estate , and a few changes to the interior if your lucky.

dont think it will look anything like the artist pics more like the actual pictures, the other ones are too drastic a change for just a facelift.

Apparently the AE pics aren't a million miles away from what it'll look like, but are by no means the finished article. I think it looks a lot like the current A3 from rear 3/4 view in those pics as well...

Fingers crossed eh! Looks very nice - just wonder how much Ford will dilute the styling before release though!
