just done the rear wheel bearing on my cousins '98 td estate but I have a problem with the hub nut...

Just how tight do you need to do it up? The last one was torqued up to F/T & was a bastard to get of.
The new bearing is a tapered one so I done it up just to take the play out of the hub....but there is no split pin or hole for a split pinconfused

so how tight does it have to be? I dont want to ream it up as im sure it will knacker the new one in a couple of hundred miles...

can anyone help?

Thanks Jon, it threw me a bit as its a taper bearing with no castlated nutyikes
& reaming it up would have worn the bearing...weirdyikes

Just wind it up to that, its almost definatly a scaffold pole job if your not using airtools! Just set torque wrench to 110nm and double length of handle (i think)
