Does anyone know if Ford are planning an ST220 equivalent model of the new Mondeo please?

Publically saying no at the moment. If they do you can bet it will be lame with the Duratec V6 being dropped.........Thank Gordon Brown for that one.

That would be a real pisser, I want to replace my current ST220 next year and like the new Mondeo but would only want an ST equivalent. Oh well, I'll have to wait and see.

Mind you, I can get this for the same price give or take a few bob..

You might find a nicely specced 2.5T Titanium would do the job and not be that far off in terms of real-life pace. Although the power is about the same and the new Mondeo is a bit heavier, that wider band of meaty turbo-charged torque would make a useful ally.

Having said that, it would be good if Ford started playing properly again with Vauxhall getting more adventurous with it's VXR offerings and their twin turbos etc as mentioned on the news page today!

Hmm, I've looked at the 2.5 Titanium but it's a bit too "standard" for my local road (the ring).

What about a Mazda6 MPS? Sort of sticking with the Ford theme, and a bit more interesting...
