Hi Guys...

Would really like your opinion on this before I call the gagage back!

I bought my 52 plate Mondeo 2.0 TDCI 115 LX Auto Estate about a month ago from auction.. (My first big mistake!)

When I drove the car away it drove like a pig and smoked a bit on start up..

Long story short, it has just had the following work done;

Re-conditioned head
Timing Chain replaced
All gaskets and bits and bob etc
4 new injectors
New Injector ECU
Various re-programming of various ecu's!

I have just picked the car up, and it does indeed start and drive smoothly (or as smooth as is the norm for a diesel)

HOWEVER, my question is this... OH MY GOD IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE THIS SLOW?!!

I am used to driving all sorts of vehicles at work, everything from fiestas to astra's, focus, toyota Avensis, etc... So I don't think I have unreasonable expectations.

Is the model really this slow? As an example it does seem to struggle to get up hills, and pulling away on a hill is very slow. Almost seems that the turbo is not spooling up?

I had intended to try a rough 0-60 type test to compare with known performance figures..

Can anyone help me out?

Never driven an Auto TDCi but all the manuals i've driven have been more than acceptable, you should be able to feel a big slug of power as the turbo kicks in.

I should feel no slower than a 1.6 Focus/Astra as a rough guide.

Check the fuel consumption.

Next in kick down do the 50-70 and the 30-70 and get the passenger tio time it roughly. Then check your manual.

Failing that test drive another example of the same.

Final question - given youd bought it and it was in that state why didnt you just take it back to be sold in the auction again and buy another rather than p*ss your money down the drain?

I used to have a 130 tdci auto, and it definitely had no problem going up hills.
However, I was using a BMW 530d at the same time and the MAF sensor packed up and so that felt like it had lost half its power...could it be that?
