Not a lot would be my guess. What body is fitted as a Luton would be considerably less than a small panel van body.

Why do you want the petrol, once lpg is fitted i think it'll take a while to get your costs back?

Doesn't the petrol Transit of that era have the same 2.3 petrol engine as fitted to the Ford Galaxy people carrier? I suppose they weigh a similar amount, so if you check the specs on the internet that could give you an idea.

To be honest, petrol Transits just don't sound right. I've never been a fan of diesels, but in a van they are perfect. That first welcoming rattle that reverberates around the cab when you fire them up on a cold moring. The oh so narrow power band that you try to keep within when hurling the thing along as fast as is humanly possible. It's all part of the 'van' experience.

Do you really want to trade all of that for a bit of petrol refinement?

Anyway, I'm off to take my 'sane' pills...

my diesel does about 26 mpg ,so if the petrol does say 18mpg at 50p per let on gas thats the same as 45 mpg, with fuel prices going up even more i think it makes sence, but i dont no the true mpg of a 2.3 petrol yet so i am just gessing(not a luton)

How about converting the diesel van to gas?
A lot of (ok, some) HGVs run on a diesel/gas dual fuel set-up
