My daughters 2002 Ka failed its MOT on rear dampers.
So I have some new ones & a spring compressor. I have removed one easily enough, but cannot work out how to remove the 'top spring mounting' from the old damper, to transfer this & the spring to the new one. I was expecting to see a nut holding it on the damper, but there is just a flat disc with some indentations in it. I'm sure its easy when you know how, can anybody help please!.

Sure, if you push the top mount down every so slightly you will see a tiny circlip, this can be removed with a small screwdriver quite easily, although it's much easier if you get somebody to compress the spring slightly by pushing down on thhe top mount.

Hope this helps.

Oh, and don't lose the circlip :P
