well, it suprised me... sometimes (if lucky) I got up to 31 average on a run. 2 new tyres went on thursday and were inflated to 35psi. Today doing 60-90leptons M4/M25/M1 to luton airport (including couple of jams along the way) I saw 36mpg at one point.

Mine pulls 35-36 on a run too... surprisingly better than the old 2.5 V6 ST200 I had, which hit a peak at 34.

Round town is a slightly different story though... more like 25...

Mines much better on fuel now, it doesn't tend to use much parked up broken.

Question: Was it raining? I have noticed 2.5 / 3.0 lumps get notably better consumption in rainy/misty weather, even when hoofing it.

I managed to get from Lizard to Manchester on a single tank last week. 365 miles, with another 40 miles range remaining on the trip computer. I reckon I averaged 35ish, and that was with some bad jams on the way. Creeping along at 55mph would give even better economy I'm sure, but surely that defeats the point of owning an ST?

Damn you! biggrin

I don't think my Focus is doing much more than that on a run and it, err, doesn't have a V6 and two extra doors (or the rest!)
