i am about to purchase a fiesta rs turbo, i want to fit a set of ''compomotive MO competiton 6 spoke'' alloy wheels, i also want the car as low as possible (-60mm), now-my problem is i would like 16 inch alloys but there are a number of widths (16x6, 16x7, 16x7.5 and 16x8) and also 2 offset ranges - ET00 and ET56. so could somebody please point me in the right direction as i dont want them 2 foul the chassis leg on full lock like my last pair of oz superleggeras did which were 15 inch. any help would be much appreciated

fezzie arches are very tight and require major mods to get anything over 16's to fit I would not go for 16's personally but go for a set of 15's with the correct offset

As above, I'd go for 15"s with 195/45/15 tyres.

ET38 is the correct offset for a Fiesta RST.

i had an xr2i 16v and had 17inch superleggeras fitted and they were an et37 offset which fitted fine with just the arches ground down a bit(no major task) but then it was not lowered and had spacers and longer studs, it only rubbed with 2 or more people in the back which was rarely, but this was still not ideal. it did grip and look much better and i never had a problem with the wheels bearings due to the spacers as i was told might happen.
i would not advise this route as when it does rub it has the potential to be dangerous and sounds horrid when rubbing.

16" or 17" wheels will not rub on the suspension if you have coilovers fitted as they have a much slimmer design just a minor grind of the arch will stop them rubbing there at all.

but as said above if you are not going for a coilover setup but just springs or springs and uprated dampers, 15" wheels will be best with a 195/45/15 tyre(this is the best option unless you go for coilovers then perhaps 16" wheels would be)

the supplier of your wheels will advise as to the best offset and usually best to deal with the manufacturer direct if possible.
