Fiesta MK4/MK5

I have a MK5 Fiesta

I have a rather annoying rattling soudn whichs SEEMS to be the spare wheel (which is under the boot) moving around/rattling

I sued to have a MK4 Fiesta a few years back and I remember the mechanic tellign me that the spare wheel was the source of soe noise

Does anyone know if this is a common problem on these models and to solve it?

Take the spare out. Does it still rattle?

Put foam or padding around the wheel.

I took the wheel out just now and I wil lgo for a test drive later

The car is in general decent condition throughout but the bit under the boot that holds the spare wheel is quite rusty - is notwhere to really put any foam!

I wodner if its the actual cage that holds the spare wheel that is moving...?

Also do you know how rusted the inside of a spare wheel can be before its dodgy??

Bit of gaffer tape and you can get foam in there I'm sure

Erm, not sure about the tyre, if unsure get it checked.
