The a 1.25/1.4/1.6/1.7 zetec engines all use the same mounts, but the 1.8 and 2.0 engines will need different mounts fabricating, theres a bloke on ebay thats selling them if you want to do it that way, but then you'll need aftermarket management, driveshafts, exhaust etc etc. Not cheap at all!

If you want extra speed from your 1.7, a set of cams should see a nice increase, but you will lose the VCT.

TBh any engine could propably fit, it all depends how much time and money you have.

The 2 litre i think has been done but as said will require the full running gear and management etc.

If ut was my car i would take some of the bits off the racing puma and some easier upgrades like cams, induction and exhuast.

Lots of hassle even if you can get some engine mounts. The 2.0 Zetec is rated at 128bhp standard, and weighs more than the 1.7 Puma unit, which is 123 brake, best stick to the 1.7 and tune it slightly, a decent filter and exhaust will make up the 5 bhp, and you will have slightly better power to weight ratio. The 2.0 Zetec would win on the torque side though, are you going to pull a caravan with it?? biggrin

sorry m8 but its a pointless conversion unless you wanted to spend an absolute fortune for not very much.

about £1000-£1500 for manifold, sports cat, exhaust, induction kit, remap/dreamscience which will get you about 15bhp

about £2000-£2500 will get the 1.7 upto about 150bhp(look on pumabuild coz theres a section there that explains everything price, power, parts)

and £4500-5000 will get you the duratec lump from the 2.0 fiesta st150 fitted and then you can easily take that upto 190bhp for about a grand. anymore than that and your looking at getting a 2.3 bottom end.

hope this rough guide helps(type pumaspeed or pumabuild in google and you can do your own research)
