Car's not selling?
Discussion
I hear ya, it' actually worse in Ireland (unbelieveable but true) which is why I'm selling.
Finally packing up and heading home to Dublin full-time, which means registering on Irish plates) but don't fancy paying 1400 Eur PA road tax!!! I don't drive that much so petrol is not the big issue, but I can't in good concscience give the greedy taxman that much every year!

How wrong is it? I had Glass valuation (online) done and it put it between 5400 and 5700 as a trade-in price from dealer! Ok so this was 6 weeks ago but still should be close no?.....so I guess the question then is what would you put it on for?
Ignore Guides and the like. Get last weeks autotrader, (or do it on line, print out all for sale this week and leave it a week) and phone up all similar cars. Those that were sold within 1 day were too cheap, and those that no one has phoned up about are too dear. Those that sold by Sunday afternoon were priced to sell.

I feel like one of those QVC lads...Price Drop TV or something like that....I've lowered the price to 5250, lets see what happens
Thanks for the appraisals folks!
ETA: I like the system POD - that makes sense!
A technique I started using in 1991 I tried to sell a W reg Escort 1.6GL for £1100. Nothing. Not one phone call. Phoned up all the other escorts for sale, and worked out I'd got it only slightly out.

Readvertised it at £995, 27 phone calls in 48 hours. Sold to 1st viewer for £950. Price was 10% out, but nobody was going to even phone up because nobody likes to haggle even for £100.

Fit LPG?
Does converting to LPG lower the VED or just give you a saving on the fuel itself?Edit: found the answer myself: not really much difference to VED
