mondeo diesel auto advice
Discussion
I ran a 54 plate Ghia version for over a year and it was a great car. I never had any problems with the car, or the auto gearbox...I think the reliability of it is much improved than the old ones (gearbox wise).
I drove mine quite hard and also had it chipped and it never missed a beat and averaged about 38mpg.
Hope that helps

I had one on test for a week in late 2004 and vividly remember serious take-off lag - entering fast roundabout or pulling out of junctions was scary.
It also seemed to shift into higher gears at too low speed - this was most noticeable in 30MPH limits where the car would be juddering so was generally manually selecting a lower gear.
Maybe they're software faults that can / have been fixed.
Only other thing I can remember, which is a generic Mondeo thing, was a lot of wind noise from around the B posts. It was pretty intrusive from 45MPH upwards.
