my dad has told me i can have the car for my first car if i finsh the bodywork off, but what engine can i fit was thinking of cortina 1300cc or crosslow and what wheels and insurer can i look out for any comments would be appreiciated

1st car? How old are you? I'd check the insurance first!

If i was you if its your first car i would by a cheap run around for a year/2 to get some no claims whilst over the year you can spend the time getting the capri road worthy checking the brakes getting your wheels/bodywork sorted etc but thats just my opnion.

Would be a royal PITA to swap engines, work on the capri and its V6, and buy yourself a fiesta or escort to build up a year or 2's NCB.

have been working on the capri and will be all weekend, went this morning fitted the 1 inch wheel spacers on the rear looked really nice pushed the(s)wheels further out into the x-pack,
put a fully charged battery on her flicked the ignition, fuel pump switch and pressed the magic button and she turned over for a couple of minutes with slight touches of throttle to make sure she didnt flood after 2-3 minutes she stopped turning over and my attention was drawn to a loudish whining noise and when i looked the starter motor had come adrift so i had to jack the car up take the heat sheild off fiddle around for a while then all of a suden was hit by that bcensoredd snow and had to make tracks so all will reveal itself tomorrow bear in mind that she has been stood for 3 years with the same fluids, did check she had petrol and oil etc so was able to try but sods law says it will be something simple probably something i have done lol
