Fiesta Zetec S TDCi - door problems

I own a 2007 Fiesta Zetec S TDCi which has just developed a problem where there is a warning on the dash saying that the passenger door is open when it isn't. Opening the door and closing it again doesn't solve the problem. I presume there is a sensor problem but have looked for one around the door but cannot find one. The biggest problem with this is that I am unable to lock the car (as it thinks the passenger door is open).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Under warranty so get it to a dealers ASAP. The switch is either in the latch on the B piller or the lock mech itself.
