Ford Fiesta Zetec + Rs Turbo = Doable?
Discussion
Currently own a fiesta MK6 1.4 zetec. Its possible that for a whole year it could be off the road and as a project i was wondering what people thought about the following. Was consdiering fitting the engine from a series 2 escort rs turbo to the fiesta. I know i would have to carry across some ancillarys and have had ideas for breaks and the like. Basically wondering if people thought it was dobale without spending vasts amount of money, and how much fabrication would probably be needed.
Look forward to some of the reponses.

Engine and gearbox mounts would need fabricating, wiring loom would need modifying, and a standalone, or possibly cosworth management system installed, along with a hundred more little jobs to get it running properly.
So, it wont be cheap, you will probably be better sticking a fiesta ST engine in, does your fiesta have abs? If not, you cant use the ST ECU if i remember correctly.

Going Zetec to CVH? I've got 2 CVH engined cars, one's a straight carb, the other is an EFi turbo. I also have a Zetec in a previously CVH engined car
Assuming you want CVH, why Escort/MFi though? EFi has many more options and would generally be more reliable as well as ultimately more tuneable with management. From sourcing an RST engine recently and then having it fully rebuilt (new pistons, rods, bolts, shells, bearings, crank, cam, valves etc) you're looking well into 4 figures before it gets near the car.
Might be worth considering a ZVH - there's stuff on ebay but you wouldnt be able to do it with the bottom end you have.
Ideally drop a bigger Zetec in, the early Mondeo, Escort or Fiesta in 130 bhp should be a nice upgrade. Can definately tell the difference between 8v and 16v with mine.
I'd say stick with Zetec but go bigger. You'd get 130 bhp as standard with the RST, same as the Zetec
