Morning all,

I'm sure that the rear off side caliper on my MK3 Mondeo is sticking.

When driving it feels like I've left the handbrake slightly on and the wheel/disc in question has been getting very hot. I've tried vigorously pumping the brakes whilst on the move to try and free off but nothing seems to work - any ideas before I bite the bullet and stride into my local garage??

Whip the wheel off and push the caliper piston in. I forgot about this when I changed my discs and pads recently

The rear pistons wind in on your car, so no matter how much you try and push them back in it wont work. You can turn them with a pair of grips, a bit rough but it will work, if you cannot turn the piston then it will be siezed and theres not a huge amount you can do with it.

Oh, and the pistons are 'sided' so the o/s winds in clockwise and the n/s anticlockwise if I remember rightly.

You may find the handbreak cable is sticking as well.

Thanks for all your help guys.

James998 wins the prize for the correct guess - a sticking handbrake cable!
