Focus - Cambelt Change

Hi,

I have a 2001 (new facelift) Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec - it is currently at 49,000 miles. Will the cambelt have to be changed at 50,000 miles or 60,000 miles ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a feeling Ford state it doesn't need to be changed until 100,000 miles. But don't quote me on that!

But it's usually worth doing it before the recommended time.

The book says 100k, if I were you, around 70/80k

I have always heard its 60k but as a rule whenever i buy a new car i always get it done so i know where i am starting from.

100k or 10 years, but i'd get it done at 80k at the latest for peace of mind.
