Black, with 17" alloys, side skirts, privacy glass, leather seats.

I'll post some good quality pics as there seems to be a distinct lack of them on t'net.

Nice car, much nicer than our recently departed Fiesta ST, but lacked a little grunt, just make sure they register it in 2009!!

Good news, i bet your pissing yourself with excitment. ive just been there myself collecting my new focus S on the 5th dec 2008 after waiting 5 wks past the arranged collection date, i almost exploded with excitment and frustration. if you check out my previous post a few weeks back you will see my problem list which i wrote in the 1st 500 miles of owning her.

for full details read my previous post titled my (my new 58 focus S) but to cut a long story short i had electrical probs at 200 miles and at 502 miles i had gear box problems so it was booked in on the 29th of this month for a 3rd gear sync mesh change and was told i wud have it back yesterday so at 13:30 yesterday i made a call to ford kingsnorton to check the progress she said "oh errm there is another promlem with the gear box, they have took it apart sorted the problem an put back together but when it was taken on the road test the mechanic noticed that it went into 3rd ok but once in gear it made a terrible noise so they have bought it back and are now stripping it out again as we speak".

i couldnt belive it, what a kick in the teeth but any way i decided to go down to ford to get the mecanics explenation, on arrival 1 focus caught my eye amongst all the other cars on the forecourt, you guessed it... it was mine.. 10 mins ago i was told, quote: " they have bought it back and are now stripping it out again as we speak". lying bastaaards... "basicly" he said "i think we need to change the whole of 3rd gear, it sounds like the teeth on 3rd are grinding on each other as if the teeth are set at the wrong angle". Well it didnt do that befor you guys had it i replied, and he said " what can i say, its rather imbarrasing ill sort it asap and keep you informed"

the best thing is (now im not joking about this) my good buddy Wez has got a 57 reg fiesta ST and my brother inlaw Ben has got a 56 reg fiesta zetec S....they are both sitting nxt to mine at ford. The ST gear box actualy inploded on the motorway at 80mph last week and the zetec S adopted a major coolant leak, also last week.

Yep , Ford's biggest problem is the dealers , totaly useless monkeys and idiots , my car will go to my local vauxhall dealer even though the ford dealer is 200 meters away , i would rather have it serviced by the monkeys of longleat than take it back to said ford garage , after suffering brake failiure on my mk1 focus coming up to a roundabout "at least its only a company car" i got shot of it pretty quick ,

So if anyone from Ford reads this , seriously go out there and kick your dealership's into shape , its the 1st point of contact for the customer , its pointless making good handling cars if the aftercare is as dire as it is .

Well put Dennis the menace they are a bunch of monkeys. my brother inlaw luckily has his good friend working in the ford garage and he got the job of locating the coolant leak on the 56 fiesta S, he found that a seal had gone on the engine and went to order the part, he was suprised to see that ford HQ had declined it with no explanation... WTF.. then he went bak into the workshop and the top mecanic said to him get this fukking fiesta out of here it hasnt even got a leak he replied yes it has because ive found it. good job it was his good buddy working on it and not the "head mecanic" who supposed to know his stuff...INCOMPETANCE OR WHAT...

Cqueen, getting a new one isnt as easy as you may think, I KNOW CUS I TRIED!!! When he told me that it was even worse than befor this pissed me off so i said "look m8 why cant you just stick me a new gearbox in and be done with it" he replied "oh no no no you cant do that, let me tell you how it works. we plug your car into the diagnostic computer and the problems are then sent straight to ford HQ, somone on the other end assesses the problems and then sends back the certain parts that they are allowed change, if these parts dont work they do the same again till the problem is solved"..

Well thats just f*$kin great, who knows when i will get her bak, im stuck in a crappy bottom spec fiesta 1.4 which drinks fuel like you wouldnt believe. oh well good luck with yours and hope you dont get any problems like this, if u do then we sould make a stand and let them know what we think, after all were spending the money and they treating us like st, we pay they're fukking wages god dammit. Wheres the consumers right gone...DOG...

Picked it up a couple of hours ago, I've only done 9 miles in traffic so far so cant really give a proper review but first impressions are great!

I love it, its bloody gorgeous! couldnt help but notice people glancing at it as I rolled through sainsburys.

Gonna take it out for a spin later but still its freezin outside so no real beans. And its dark so no pics till tomorrow.

Down the swanny thats where.

And it's not just the dealers that are the problem. I was told by my local ford dealer that "Ford reserve the right to alter the warranty without any notice" so basically it is not worth the paper it is written on. The warranty you get with a new Ford isn't set in stone when you buy it, like I assumed it was.

I had a seat cross member break (the tube at the back that the control rods go through) which the mechanic told me it was a common fault on these seats. So anyway a part was ordered and it was fixed. Then it developed an irritating squeak a week later so I took her back in, it only needed greasing. It was fixed and when I went to the desk to collect my keys I was told the pervious warranty claim had been “kicked back” by ford as the seat frames are not covered under warranty anymore. He said that they’d absorb the cost into wastage and any further problems would be fixed by them at no cost.

It is frankly ridiculous that a new car isn’t completely covered (some exceptions apply like exhausts etc) by a warranty. I have since found out that wiring and connectors are not covered by the warranty after the first year either.

Anyway sorry for rabbiting on but I needed to get that off my chest.

If the dealer replaced the cross member and it squeaked – who’s fault is it that it squeaked and need grease? Is it Ford’s, or is it the dealership who replaced it..? Personally I’d say it’s the latter. Therefore, if THEY failed to replace the part correctly under the terms of the warranty, and are effectively making a second claim for the same (original fault) then yes, a warranty claim would be rejected – the dealership should pick up the costs.

Sorry chap, but that is not Ford’s issue – it’s a dealer incompetence one.
