XR3I 1990 convert to carb

HI anyone converted a XR3I(mfi) to Carb thinking of putting a twin webber rejetted and K&N fliter will i get more out of it or shall i leave it as a xr3i

The inlet ports on the injection cylinder head are pear shaped to accomodate the injectors, so the carb manifold will not fit.
If you mean a single twin choke carb, the engine would produce less power than with injection anyway.

If you put a carb on it, don't expect the engine to start between October and March! Carbs really were that awful.

best thing to do to a cvh engine is to put a fluffy cam in it, i put a kent cam in mine and a diesel gearbox and it went much better, even though looking back now my current focus diesel is faster haha,

Mine were/are always fine.

Agree that carbing a MFi 3i would be pointless though.
