Ford Cougar colour question

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with Cougar/Ford colour codes?

My partner has a 2000 X reg Cougar (facelift model, hence me being curious if there was a slight change) in silver, and has managed to dink her boot lid quite badly, so the easiest fix is to source a second hand tailgate... I'm just wondering if anyone knows if Ford ever used more than one silver shade on Ford Cougars at all?

Not AFAIK, the colours were limited to only 4 or 5 i think. Green, Silver, Purply/Blue, Black??

Yeah, I thought as much.

I can't really see any difference, just if I go get any old silver Cougar tailgate it should just fit perfectly I think...

But you never know Ford, maybe the Cougar '2' had a slightly different silver

Anyway, I'll soon find out

99.9% sure all the cougars used the same silver had one of each 98(S) and 01(51), at the same time whilst i sold the 98 and next to each other there was no difference.
