Ford Focus RS delayed!!
Discussion
I've got a new Ford Focus RS on order, and am lucky enough to be 28th on UK delivery list. The expected build date for my car was 8th Feb with 1st March delivery. My local dealer called me yesterday to say that the build dates disappeared off the Ford system on Friday. Off the record this is apparently due to a closure of the Ford Saarlouis factory in Germany, and delivery dates are now expected to be April. Has anyone else heard anything from Frod
hi, I work for Ford and the dealer is corect, the first batch of focus RS's apart from the press cars were delayed by a month, build dates are now mid march - meaning delivery for mid April, but after seeing a ultimate green and a performance blue versions at Ford Motor Company, the wait is well well well worth it, you are very lucky!

No.We have 2 on order with an expected delivery date of 1st March.
Nothing to suggest that is not going to happen. As yet.

The only thing I don't understand about that is why get an early one?
My dad is wanting to buy a 2nd one, but he wants one of the last ones to be made.
Hi there, just a little bit of info, dont know how much your dealer has told you but you RS build date may slip back due to reported con rod failure during extensive testing on th DYNO and on track. I work for ford and this is causing build dates of RS o be suspended until further notice, may want to speak to your salesman to get the latest.

That is interesting Peter, as I heard that the rods, together with the pistons, were straight out of the recently discontinued Volvo 'R' B5254T4 engine which is a combination good to over 350bhp and 480nm in those cars with good rewritten software and exhaust.
The blocks can pop though in those engines just like the similarly dimensioned bores and spacings in the RNCT engine in the ST with poorly written software.
Don.
